Apparently having the worst cold of my life has made me really creative. I saw a card similar to this on Carol Duvall this morning. Except like nearly everything on that show it was ugly and tacky. So, I modified.

I used to gold card and turned it into a pocket. It has two folded copper colored sides that you can't see in the picture. I stamped the matte gold card with a Kanji background stamp in black and embossed it with gold. Over that is a piece of gold leaf origami paper. It's topped with a sueded paper stamped with a pair of dragonflys that have been embossed in black and colored in using gel pens.

The insert has a stamped chinese banner tab to pull it out of the pocket. It's double embossed in gold then covered in UTEE. The insert is cardstock covered in fine rice paper. It's accentuated with fibers, a chinese coin, and an embossed stamp in the lower left corned. It's trimmed out with a gold leaf pen.

I stamped the back of the envelope with the same seal and embossed it in gold.

This is showing how the insert slides in and out of the pocket the card created.

this is the card itself. It's colored in with metallic gel pens in greens and ambers.

Back of the envelope. I always like to add something to the envelope itself. Something that hints at the inside for the recepient.

Thanks for looking. x-posted to [livejournal.com profile] goodbyescissors
