Making Marshmellows :3
Sep. 11th, 2004 08:12 pmI found a recipe for making them and planned on making some for bob... (He gets almost everything i make nowadays XD)
2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups water
2 packs unflavored gelatin
1)Mix half of the water with the sugar in a small saucepan, on medium heat, for around 7 minutes or until dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
2)Mix the remaining water with the gelatin in a large bowl.
3)Put the large bowl, into a larger bowl, and put ice around the inside.
4)Beat the gelatin mixture with an electric beater on a high setting, until it foams up.
5)Once it has foamed up, slowly start to add the sugar syrup into it. Beat until it thickens.
6) Pour into a lightly greased 13x9 inch pan. Let stand for 30 minutes, or until it sets. Cut into squares and serve.
...
I know its easier to buy marshmellows, but the novelty of making them as a gift is cool... >.>
Oh and watch out for your hair... I somehow coated the end of my braid in sugar syrup...XD
Also, if this is deemed "uncrafty" I will not mind having it removed by mods
