I got a old zippo from my guy friend, my girlfriend who smokes loves zippos, and she loves how I "customize" things. here is my dilemma:

the zippos kinda beet up, the inside is fine, but the case or cover is just plan black, with a weird compass painted on it. the paint is chipped and it looks real bad.

so here is my question: how can a decorate it? can i sand of the paint, then repaint it? or maybe mod-poge something on it? if i painted it what would be the best paint?
