Holiday Cards
Oct. 27th, 2004 03:11 pmI made about two dozen cards to send out last year.

The bases were textured red and green cardstock cut into quarters from standard 8.5"x11" size. The message was printed on natural toned parchment paper trimmed smaller than the base. The envelopes were the same color/pattern as the parchment. (Actually, the parchment paper and envelopes were left over from making my wedding invitations 6 years ago.)
The holly was made from pre-cut leaves and colored mini-brads. The leaves were only glued down at the center, then I lightly pulled up on the ends so they stood up slightly from the card.

I did run out of red brads and couldn't find more, so I ended up buying plain silver ones and painting them with a deep red nail polish. (I stuck them in a cork to make painting and drying easier.)

In the end, I liked the nail-polish brads better.
