Hi!

I've been thinking about making a quilt for a guy friend (as a gift for Christmas) for a few weeks now...I say guy friend and mean kind of friends-with-benefits-because-I'm-afraid-of-committment...but that's besides the point.

I want to make a quilt, but I don't know how. I mean, I don't even know where to START. I suppose I should check the library, but I was wondering if any of you could point me to some good books...or if you have any good sites, or any good patterns, or whatnot. It would be for a twin bed, thank god, as it is my first quilt. I'm having some trouble picking out something that isn't terribly girly, material-wise and pattern-wise. He's kind of mainstream, not so much of a hippie, so I'm guessing paisley and/or flowers are out. But any suggestions would be great...sites that might help...your own personal experiences...

Whatever you know about quilting would help me so much! Thanks for all of your wonderful advice ahead of time! <3
