Nov. 2nd, 2004 11:55 pmFor Halloween I dressed up as Alice [from Wonderland].
Not the best picture, but whatever. I found the dress at a thrift store and dyed it blue. I couldn't find a plain white apron, and I know it would have been super simple to make myself, but I just got one. It had some writing on it, so I wore it backwards, but you could still read the text. So I sewed on a pocket hehe. and added lace to the bottom while I was at it. It was cold so I had to wear a shirt underneith. I also wanted to have a crinolin (??) to make the dress all puffy, but the cheapest I could find [a used] one was $30! So instead I just wore 3 of my pouffiest skirts underneith it!

Here is my not-so-crafty friend dressed as a dice. A lot of people asked what he was hahaha.
Now for a completely different topic......
While on my search for scholarships I found a rather interesting one. I'm not sure how many people in the community will benefit from this, though. Anyone in their graduating year of high school [in either America or Canada] who is planning on attending post secondary education is eligible. No essay writing, nope, you don't have to be a brainer for this one. In fact it is an advantage to you crafty types. All you have to do is construct a prom dress out of duct tape and send in a picture. The first place couple wins $2,500 each and their school gets $2,500. There are 2nd and 3rd prizes as well. More details are provided at the link below. The only bummer is you have to be a couple to qualify. That leaves me stuck with begging some guy friends of mine to be in on this.
Stuck at Prom

Last years winners... yes.. it is made completely from duct tape
Damn, I hope I didn't just lower my chances at winning by announcing this. haha
