Since I ran out of pages in my old sketchbook today, and found a new sketchbook for $8.... I decided plain black was a little bit /too/ plain... So I fixed it up a bit:
My new sketchbook My new sketchbook

This is my new sketchbook. It was formally one of those ugly plain black "pro art" hardbound blank-page books. sooo, I thought I'd give it a little something more. I sewed the raw fabric edge under on a machine, then I used Super77 spray adhesive to adhere it to the cover. Its done front and back in the snowleopard velvet.
Inside the sketchbook Inside the sketchbook

On the inside front and back covers, I took the first and last pages, and sprayed Super77 adhesive, then I took that page and covered the raw fabric edges. Voila, finished custom book cover.

This sketchbook now matches a briefcase and a cashbox that I lined with the same fabric a few months ago (I dont think I ever took pictures of them, though). The interior of the briefcase is all snowleopard print velvet, the exterior is very plain... And as for the cashbox, I added the snowleopard velvet to the top of the cashbox, to "disguise" it. And make it blend in with the interior of the briefcase, so I can go to conventions and keep my money locked and safe, and not so obvious with a "BRINKS HOME SECURITY" logo printed on the top. :P The sketchbook fits perfectly next to the box in my briefcase. Its all very snazzy now.

Hopefully my sketchbook pictures will inspire you guys to go out and customise your own. :3
