new skirt!

Yay!!  New skirt...

 

Es moi, wearing my new skirt.  I realize the picture's sort of difficult to see, but...the top blue band is stretchy denim which came from a shirt, so do not fear.  This is a tee shirt reconstruction.  The black part is nine panels sewn together.  That design was inspired by this tutorial.  There's a little denim flower on the bottom.  It has about eight different layers and its 'petals' are rounded.  It's got a big wooden button on top of it and two cream-colored little leaves poking out.  It took a while to sew around the flower to save its shape from the immense gravitational force...

 

At first I was going to sew down the seams on the outside for decoration with pink thread, but I decided against it.  I like it this way...:)
