My girlfriend, [livejournal.com profile] theunderlining, has seen me crochet hats and, now, a poncho for her sister. She's never really asked me to crochet something for her--that is, until recently.

I had her pick out her yarn (Red Heart's Symphony in Persimmon) and tell me what sort of scarf she would like. She wanted something airy, so I chose an N hook with a double crochet stitch throughout. She wanted tassels on the ends and brought me two that didn't match the scarf exactly but funked it up quite a bit. She also wanted the ends of the scarf to drop down to points.

It's around 5-6 feet of goodness gracious.

Now, you can't see all of that so well in the photos she took of herself wearing the scarf. She's a photographer. It's just in her nature to make it more. You can see another photo of her with it on in her journal and she may even post one or two more. I will probably take photos of the details tomorrow sometime. For now, I give you:
