Calling all knitters!

Okay. I am writing an article about knitting. Specifically, younger people (like teenagers - 20 somethings) who knit. I know there are a lot on here and I have a few questions. You can answer one or all, I don't care. I just need a basis.

1. Why did you start knitting?
2. Do you ever feel like a dork for knitting? (Or does anyone else make you feel that way)
3. Why do you continue to knit? What is it that you enjoy so much about it?

I just recently finished my very first scarf and I'm very proud of it. It's long and skinny and black and pink stripes. Mega cuteness. I'll post a pic when I get one!
