I recently got a free lamp through Freecycle. I guess I saw it differently in my mind from the description, but when I got it, it was old & not so pretty. The bottom is kind of metal, but the gold is flaking off and the lampshade is kind of dirty. Can I paint the bottom? Is there an easy way to clean a pleated lampshade or is there an easy way to make my own shade? I am totally craft-handicapped, so any easy (and cheap) ideas are appreciated! :)
