painting records?

ok, ive seen people on here, or on _stencilry, that have painted records before aaaand...i was wondering how yall did it? i used spray paint but got an underspray and the spray adhesive took off parts of the layer of black i put down...so im wondering what would be the best way to stencil it?

im not gonna brush it cuz i dont want brush strokes, sooooo just spray paint
