Nov. 28th, 2002 09:44 pmok, so i've been watching everyone talk about knitting and crocheting and the like, and i figured i might as well try that out, i love scarfs and hats and things like that, and im pretty crafty i suppose
so i went through many days worth of entires, but now where did i see anyone mention a website or book or something that would help me start knitting...someone posted a link to make a ribbed hat which i absolutely loved, and wanted to make for my friend for christmas, but i would need to know how to knit in order to do that...i figure i have a month which should be enough right? so if anyone has a link to an older post where this info was, or just a source that i can use, it would be mcuh appreciated!
and while im asking questions, how about yarn types...i have incredibly sensitive skin, and i'm mildly allergic to wool, which also poses a problem with acrylic, which attacks my skin in the same way....do they make yarns that aren't of these consistencies and arent crazy expensive, or should i just give up on making things for myself (before i even start)
