Super easy apron out of dishtowels!
Dec. 22nd, 2004 09:38 amSo, I am a sloppy cook and I was tired of ruining clothes with various food splatters. With the bout of holiday baking I have coming up, I decided I needed an apron. I found the instructions here:

And here is what mine looks like...

It's about the easiest thing I have ever sewn! All it takes is 2 dishtowels and some twill tape for the ties. I couldn't find 3/4 inch twill tape, so I used 1/2 inch. I think I might try to find something sturdier for the ties though, as the twill tape is a little slippery and hard to tie...I also couldn't find any funky dishtowels, so it's a little boring, but I bet if you got some of those vintage dishtowels you sometimes see on eBay or whatever you could make something really cute! Also, contrary to Martha's version, I made mine without pockets, since I don't really need them. But it would have been just as easy to add them.
