i made my siblings and
elt03c their gifts this year. my brother and sister both got iPod cases, and i made my friend a semi-circle purse following the tutorial. (thanks
pinkyninky!) the purse isn't QUITE what i was expecting/what it should be, but thats because i stopped following the tutorial halfway when i got cocky. :) considering its only the second thing i've made on a sewing machine in over four months, i won't beat myself up too much over it.
the images are HUGE (..kinda), but it was the best i could do -- i've already resized them onece and if i try to do it again, i'll go over my 24hour file transfer limit. gaaah. there are a ton of pictures of the purse, but only because its my favorite. i really wanted to keep it, and now my sister is bugging me to make her one. :)

basic picture of the purse. the little black plastic bits in the foreground are from the snap-attacher anvil i destroyed. heh.

i'm definitly amused by the snaps...i need to stop playing with it or i'll break it before
elt03c gets it. :)

interior of the purse with contrasting floral pocket.

back of the purse..i made the strap a little too wide, but it turned out alright because it lined up nicely with the bottom of the purse.

inside of the purse again, purse strap.

gaaaah -- so far i've been through THREE SNAP ATTACHERS. the first two (one plastic, the second one metal) came with the little pole/anvil combination that you just hammer together yourself. the plastic one worked FINE until i, uh..smashed it. all over the place. there are still some pieces missing in my room somewhere. the second anvil (metal) leaves awful looking dents in the snap (see the gray iPod case) the THIRD one, a little hole-punchy looking tool, doesn't seem to be fastening the snaps all the way. so far, i've spent $25 on freaking snap attachers, and before i buy another one, i'd like to know if anyone has any reccomendations. i'd be very much obliged. :)

verbalasskick's iPod case. i added duct tape because for stylistic AND functional reasons. :) it adds a nice touch, regardless.

another picture of the boy's iPod case.

iPod case for my sister stüf. i wanted to make her a fleece one (she's in boston) but i was afraid it would cause her iPod to OVER heat. any thoughts on that? please note the pathetic dented snap. *tear*
