[identity profile] listenesmerelda.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl

this is all a bunch of stuff i've made a while ago but never got around to posting. a-here we go.

a while back i crocheted a hat i called the bashful bear hat.. well, that eventually turned into a set consisting of a hat, a scarf, and some short hand/wrist warmers. all out of a lovely grey boucle yarn. i look less bashful and more like i'm about to throw up, though. probably because of the poor lighting in my bedroom.

another ipod case, i'm sure everyone's excited! this little puppy is made out of felt. i'd originally tried to have in a protective sheet for the screen and touchwheel by sewing in a piece of plastic from the sort of protective paper sleeves you have in binders.. but unfortunately, it just ended up being perforated and tore right off. now, this is only meant to keep it safe from scratches while in my pocket or some such thing, it is not meant for heavy duty protection so..

..for longer excursions in more hostile environments, it goes in here. this hand-made felt experienced a new chance at life after being reborn from a previous existance as my first hideous felted hat. i like to think it's much happier now.

a couple of crocheted hats, one made of baby yarn and the other from some mohairish stuff (the pink) and acrylic (the blue).

when i knit this hott yarn up, i discovered that the scarf came up a little short, and here i was unable to get more of the yarn. no problem! hold the scarf in place with a fancy thrift store brooch and you've got a yourself a classy little neckwarmer thing.

and finally, a shirt i faux-screened for my roommate's birthday (which was way back in june, just to give you an idea about how behind i am on posting). sadly, it's already starting to fade because she did not heat-set it as instructed. oh well.

now, i don't know how many of you have crafty mommies (although i know that a lot of you are crafty mommies), but i thought i'd rep something my own crafty mom made here. this is a pin she made me for christmas out of scraps of the cloth she wove. i thought it was really cute and an interesting way to use her material, which usually just gets made into jackets or tapestries.

and that's all she wrote, folks.
