Frosted glass remover...?

Hi, I rarely post or comment here. Although I have been a member and read for quite some time. I've searched and searched for the answer to the following question, and I was hoping that someone here might know the answer to it. I was given a dresser with a mirror for Christmas. I just received it today. The mirror has flowers painted on it in what appears to be the same substance they use to frost glass. Does anyone know what I could use to remove it? I hate the flowers but I don't want to hurt the feelings of the giver. Any help would be appreciated.
