I know that right now everyone's focus is on how to help the Tsunami victims, but as I was driving home in Boston tonight, I took a good look around and realized just how many homeless people we have living right in our own neighborhoods. This inspired me to help, even if it is just a small gesture-Since it's the coldest weather we've seen in a long time, I've decided to have a 'blanket challenge'. For us crafty types, this is a chance for some flexing of our DIY muscles while helping others. I've learned that fleece blankets are really easy to make- all you need are 2-3 yards of medium/heavy weight fleece (walmart sells it pretty cheap) and a good pair of scissors to make 1-inch finge around the edges so it doesn't fray. When you're done, bring them to your local food pantry/shelter. I'm sure they'll be much appreciated- Hope to hear about everyone's success stories.

(for the knitters/crocheters, Hats, gloves and coats are always helpful too)
