i've had the obsession of wanting to make a dress for a reallly long time now, but i honestly have no idea what i'm doing, although i'd like to think i do.

this is the dress i want to make, except with straps.

 

it doesn't look that hard to make, but then again, what do i know.

should i make the quilt-like fabric and then get a pattern and use the quilt stuff like normal fabric? or is there another more sensical way of going about it?

maybe, in a million years, i could even make this dress (without the cap sleeves) using the quilt fabric idea. or any fabric for that matter. i really just like the way this dress hangs, you know?
