I'm making some doll stockings
Jan. 29th, 2005 10:42 pmSpecifically, I'm making a replica of this character, so there's little room for improvisation in the clothing. The only problem I'm having planning it involves the material for her socks. For those who don't feel like clicking, the socks are a sheer dress fabric, much like nylon knee-highs.
Can I buy a cheap pair of nylons and make them into socks for her, or will they turn into a run-riddled mess no matter what I do? I'd have to stretch them tight to get them to stay up on her legs.
Okay, Plan B: what kind of sheer, semi-transparent fabric would you recommend?
Also, if anyone has any tips on making a doll-sized pleated skirt (like a Japanese schoolgirl's uniform skirt), they're very welcome.
