craftgrrl | Laugh with me fellow CraftGrrls!

So I have been crocheting since I was about 5. My mom taught me because she was learning herself and I wouldn't shut up until I knew how to do this magical thing with a hook and some yarn!

I'm thinking, I'm gonna start trying to make hats and mittens and things and then try to sell them on a small website. I'm very ambitious about this....I'll keep my craftgrrls posted...

Ok...funny part of the story...
I have these instructions
and some lovely yarn (tons and tons...went on a bit of a spree at joanns the other day hehe)
So I sit down to start my VERY FIRST HAT...
I follow the instructions exactly....I'm doing very well...and I'm excited...until I got about half way done with the damn thing...and barely big enough to put on a baby dolls head. Apparently I missed the part at the VERY BEGINNING
which said
Size P (12mm) crochet hook OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

Gauge

7 stitches and 4 rows to 4" over Double Crochet (dc) with 2 strands held together and size P (12mm) hook.

I have a size 8mm hook....and I have been working single strand.
Yes...I'm a GREAT craftgrrl...
i need to learn how to PAY ATTENTION!!!!! hahahaha
I hope im not the only one who finds this funny because if so I've bored you all to tears with this story...

If you'll excuse me I'm going to see if I can catch my cat and give him his new hat...He's got the smallest head in the house...
