new sewing machine!

I posted like a week ago asking about sewing machines, and what type I should get for my birthday.  Well my mom found a great deal (on ebay) for a new kenmore (which i think is around $150) and got it for $50... so I got my present a little early!

 its kinda a small and dark picture... but thats my new machine!

so after getting it yesterday, I had to make something... so i resized a t shirt and put letters on it :

   i didnt really mean for the "h" to be that crooked, but i think i kinda like it like that! aaand there are a few strings hanging but they were just loose ones i didnt see untill i looked at the picture.  but this is my first project with my new sewing machine that i loooove!   i might add some more things... or do something with the sleeves later... im not sure yet... any sugesstions would be great!
