Alright, I made this nifty frame for my boyfriend for Valentine's day. Here's how to do it.

Materials
1. Gather your materials- A frame the size you want, candy hearts (I used 3 small boxes for a frame that holds a 5x7 picture), cardboard, spray paint, clear nail polish, craft glue (I used GOOP), a pencil, and an exacto knife.

Tracing the frame
2. Take the frame apart and trace the main part on the cardboard twice. Cut them out.

Cutting out the center
3. On one of the pieces, also trace and cut out the window of the frame.

Tracing the leg
4. Trace and cut out the "leg" on the back of the frame.

Spray painted pieces
5. Spray paint both sides of all the pieces and let dry.

Seperated and sealed hearts
6. Open all the boxes of candy hearts and seperate out the broken and ugly ones. Seal all the remaining ones with two coats of nail polish, letting the first coat dry before applying the second. I used one coat of clear and one coat of clear with glitter.

Gluing the hearts down
7. After the hearts and frame pieces are dry, lay out all the hearts on the top piece (the one with the window cut out). Put a small amount of glue on the back of each heart and stick it down.

Putting the frame together
8. Place your picture on the center of the back piece of the frame and trace around it. Remove the picture and apply glue from the outside of this line to the edge of the cardboard. Carefully place the top piece down on the bottom piece. Let dry.

Scoring the leg
9. Using the exacto knife, score the top corner of the leg.

Applying glue to the leg
10. Flip the leg over, and apply glue to the back of the scored corner.

Gluing the leg
11. Line up the leg on the back of the frame. You might want to hold the frame up to figure out the exact placement that will make your frame stand at the angle you would like. Make sure that the glue is fully dry before trying to stand up the frame.

Insert picture
12. Insert your picture. You may have to trim it to get an exact fit. Also, make sure that you get the bottom of your picture down past the bottom edge of the window. This was a little tricky for me.
