More purses and ponchos and a query
Feb. 18th, 2005 06:21 pmToday it rained ALOT so I set to makin' purses. I took some of the ones i made earlier in the week to the girls at work (I work in a day spa with a gift boutique in the reception area). You'd think I was giving them mana. They were *so* excited. My boss wants me to bring some more in on Monday and she might consign them, which would be sweet since they are made from scraps and leftovers. To all you craft selling mamas that make purses or smaller sized crafts, what would be a fair amount? They take less than an hour to make (about 20 minutes per purse, sometimes less, and they cost nothing to make since its all leftovers). I've never sold anything but clothes so I'm not really sure how to price them and I've never consigned anything.

The 1st 11 are the new ones.
Then I made ponchos out of some pink red and white soft knit cotton I bought at wal*mart for $1/yard. I've never sewn a stretchy fabric before. It was interesting. I made 3, plus a tiny one for a friends new baby (It matches Mommas, per the mommas request)

And- I took a nap with my Burbank kitty.
I liked making ponchos.. if I could find a market (I don't think they'd do well on ebay) I'd mass market them. THey are fun and easy to do. I just cut a full circle, cut a head hole and hemmed.
