I checked the memories, but didn't see anything regarding hinge purse frames...
I just bought a "BagLady" purse frame. I bought this particular one because it included a pattern, and I'd never done something like this before. I knew that I would want to change the proportions of the pictured purse to get the size I wanted (really going for more of a small change purse), but I figured having a pattern would help me make the alterations correctly. Unfortunately, when I got it home and opened it to look at the pattern, it's just two rectangles (cut two of A and one of B) with very vague markings. The bottom of one piece says "place on fold", and nowhere in the directions does it mention a fold of any kind. The writing is *kind of* on the bottom, but not really, and the stitching dotted line just goes off the bottom of the piece. I cut out three pieces of plastic bag to try and understand how it goes together, but matching up the dots didn't seem to give me anything but a triangle! I rearranged the pieces every way I could think to, but the "sides and bottom" B piece just doesn't turn into sides or a bottom at any point. What am I doing wrong? The directions are only four sentences long, and there's so much detail left out!!
"Sew fabric and lining as follows: Lay piece B and one of piece A right sides together matching dots. Sew by hand or machine. Repeat with the second piece A. Clip as needed."
I know I can't show the entire pattern/"directions" here, but does anybody have a way to explain how to properly piece together a purse on a hinged metal frame? I went to the website for this distributor, and they show a picture of the frame but offer no further explanation, and you can't even see the pattern itself online. I just can't figure this out!
Thanks in advance, for anyone that may have done this before and know what I'm supposed to do!
(the picture of the frame I bought--on the purse their pattern supposedly creates--is at http://www.baglady.com/FreeFabricBag.htm#BL50 --third down from the top.)
