Hi all! I need a little help. I tried to make a pair of those wonderfully comfy looking wrap pants a while back, and failed miserably. I'm not sure where I went wrong, but it was most likely in measuring.

Now, however, I have fallen in love with This Skirt. Kudos to Funky Utopia, because they also worked with Crafters for Critters and I think that's swell.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy a skirt from them (yet - I may treat m'self when my tax return comes in.) And well, I'd like to try my hand at it (And the local Joann's is moving, and has everything 40-60% off). Now, I've had 'wrap skirts' before that were essentially a big square of fabric with a chord at one side, and a hole on the other (kinda). But Funky Utopia's skirt doesn't quite look like that. Do you think it'd be safe for me to cut two squares with my waist size, stitch them into a tube, and sew on ties/ribbons and get a similar result?

I figure the biggest it should be is that the two 'corners' of the front panel meet in the back, and tie. So that should be my entire waist size, or a little smaller. Does that jive?

In any case, I'll try it and post results later. *G*
