Hi! I haven't posted here yet, but I've been hanging around for a couple days.

This year I was gonna make angel ornaments for all my horrible relations' Christmas trees (I have a really big family and no money) but I am moving on New Years and I just don't have the time. I managed to get one done though, for my own tree (the first one I've had on my own). Here are some progress pics.

Here she is all nekkid, with her wings, halo and dress. I felt bad for her with no clothes on and gave her star-shaped sequin pasties and little black ruffle-butt panties I made from this weird ruched ribbon. My roommate saw her like that and says he wants a dirty little burlesque angel next year. Her wings are black feathers with rhinstones, her halo is just this little plastic ring I found in my craft box and painted with holographic silver glitter nail polish, and her dress is pewter taffeta.


Here is a close-up of the back of her head. You can see her halo and the colour in her hair. Her hair is just black and blue embroidery thread I stitched to her head in loops and then tied in pigtails.


And here she is all finished and ready for Christmas! Under her dress she has an underskirt of black tulle and I painted shoes on with the same nail polish as her halo, and gave them star sequin buckles.


She is a little gimpy looking, but I think for being the first thing I've sewed in years she turned out pretty well, especially for an experiment. Her head is kind of bizarre, but oh well. I made her body from cream-coloured brushed cotton and painted her face with acrylics.
