computer printed iron on transfers
Mar. 16th, 2005 12:50 amHi. I have this plan to create a quilt using some of my fabric scraps and some spooky printed images I've collected over the years: victorian mourning cards, Edward Gorey art, album art from some of my favourite bands and maybe even some band logos, etc.
I plan to use my computer's printer to create iron-on transfers which I will iron onto cotton and incorporate into the design, but I need to know: in designs that include a lot of black, is it better to use the more expensive dark t-shirt transfers, in which the design appears exactly as you print it because you peel off the backing and print the design directly on the fabric, or could I print my designs on the light transfers and iron them onto white cotton?
Has anyone done this before? Which is the better option?
Thanks so much for your help!
