craftgrrl | my first art quilt! (and some hats :p)

hihi! i just found this community and it's great... i love the utter variety of things posted and all the DIY creativity. i love some of the tutorials and ideas people have posted. (i'm actually crocheting something for my friend right now inspired by the hairnet post today, XD!)

i have been doing lots of crafts lately (hats, handbags, etc), but i just made my very first art quilt this week and it was so fun and i thought i would post it because it made me happy. lol. i've made this one into a large bag (16"x16") to carry my sewing projects to my friends house. it's not perfect, some parts are messy or overworked, but i am happy for my first try and am now in love with art quilting and can't wait to try more! :P since this one was just for me, it has lots of silly little things in it and fabrics from lots of different costumes and scraps i had at home (i have waaay too much fabric :p). it has 2 bunnies, kodama, ladybugs, moss, and a faery ^_^ i was going to add a fish but then i kinda overworked the thing and figured it would just look messy :P

there's some crocheted hats i made at the bottom, too. it makes me happy to see more people into crochet, it usually seems knitting gets all the love! :p
