I'm very happy with how they turned out, but the marbles weren't great quality. Most had bubbles, and many had uneven bottoms. I guess that's what I get for buying cheap marbles at WalMart :) If I were planning on selling them or something, I'd spend the extra to get better quality ones.
I used Elmer's gel glue. I was a bit concerned, since the bottle was several years old, and the glue yellowish, rather than its original blue. However, it seems to have worked wonderfully. The marble farthest to the left (the blurry one, which looks vaguely eye-ish) was made using white glue which dries clear, but the results were much worse (though that could have been the image itself), and it was more difficult to work with.
Air bubbles which don't show up when the glue is wet show up as mirrory areas once dried, especially when the marbles is viewed as an angle. They could probably be pressed out while the glue is still wet.
I still need to find magnets for the back. The thin strip magnets seem like they wouldn't be strong enough to hold both the marble and paper, but they seem to be the cheapest and most available.
