I got about three or four cups of Peridot, uncut and unpolished, stone. Peridot is apparently very popular right now, and I didn't even realize it. I was going to take the stone and glue them to a cigar box to look like grass. Anyway, I was looking on some websites about polishing, but they all require a bunch of tools. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can just throw it in a rock tumbler. The stones aren't very large at all, the biggest one being about half a carrot perhaps. I didn't know if I polish them if they will just.. get too small to use. I haven't used a rock tumbler since I was about 10, so I don't remember anything about it.

I do have powdered Diamond, which is used in cutting and polishing, but I have no idea how.

Any help?
