How Evan drives with it, open in his lap:

Ribbing:

Using size 5 needles and sport weight yarn, cast on 20 stitches.
Stockinette stitch (k1p1) until 6.5" long. Knit the last row.
Now we're going to reverse the stockinette pattern.
Increase 1 stitch, knit row, increase 1 stitch.
Purl 1 row.
Increase 1 stitch, knit row, increase 1 stitch.
Continue stockinette, reversed from first 6.5" section.
This will be the folded over flap.
-Stockinette stitch for 10 rows, until reverse stockinette section is 1.25 inches long. Purl the last row.
Reverse stockinette again, going pkpk for 4 rows.
Reverse stockinette a total of 5 times. This isn't necessary, because the flap could also be knitted in garter stitch (k1k1), but I thought I'd try a ribbed look.
Finally, knit two rows in garter stitch, and then knit half a row, do a yarn-over, and finish the row. Knit 2 more rows. Bind off.
Fold the bottom third of the knitted rectangle up to the first time you reversed the stockinette pattern, with the V side of the stockinette OUT.
Sew up the sides using yarn or thread, making sure to knot it securely. Turn the little pocket you made inside out, sew on a button, and you're done.
This is my own pattern, so I apologize for it being confusing. I just had to figure it out as I went along, and it turned out pretty cute considering, but I'm going to continue making changes to it and will post the results when I get it refined.
