Mar. 28th, 2005 02:48 pmThis has been in the works for awhile. I didn't really have any fabric I adored, but I had some pillows on the futon already that would match the base-fabric, at least, so I went with that. The pockets were all going to be the same fabric with the yellow flannel for lining (scrap fabric at Walmart) but I was semi-dumb and didn't think about the pocket having to come up from the fabric to accomodate the depth of the remote, so I had to junk those pockets and set up new ones from assorted scraps.
I also had to figure out how to weight it so that it wouldn't slide off the arm of our futon from the weight of the remotes themselves, so I ended up using 2 bags of $.50 chick peas or some such nonsense, whatever was cheapest! I sewed them in, just like I would have had it been pillow fluffing. I didn't take them out of the bag or anything, since I'm ghetto and lazy. I bought some cute glittery pink rick-rack, since nothing on there really matches any better than anything else and glue-gunned it on. I don't anticipate spilling on it or having to wash it. . . PINK GLITTER <3.
Here it is:
On the floor.
On the futon.
Upclose!
