[identity profile] bubbychucks.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
hmmm ... I hope this is an ok question to ask here. I have a huge collection of vintage craft books and magazines and I'd like to put some of the projects online. I already know how to check if something is still protected under copyright, and most of my stuff is. So this is actually kind of a two part question.

1. Does anybody know how to contact a company about copyrights?? Like Better Home and Gardens .. who in the company would I contact about using thier patterns? And what about companies that no longer exist, who do I contact then?

2. Is it even worth it? I won't be making a profit from this site, and I doubt that the copyright holders will be making a profit off of these patterns ever again, but do you think they'll give me permission to put this stuff online?

Thanks for any help/advice you can offer. And if this post isn't crafty enough, feel free to remove it.
