Dec. 15th, 2002 09:27 amI just joined this community this morning, and after reading through many posts and getting good ideas, i figured i'd post a couple pictures of some things i've made recently.
I get most of my candles that i use from the dollar store in canada, so with the exchange rate, they're about 60 cents. this is a fall candle i made cutting leaves out of some napkins we had, and melting them into the surface of a candle with a hairdryer. The surface ends up not being smooth, but it adds character. An embossing gun is recommended.

This is a last minute gift i made last night, it's just another cheap dollar store candle with those rub ons that can be put on virtually any hard surface. It came out pretty cute.

And this is the final picture for now, i've made many of these because they're quick and easy, and end up being sort of cute. Just get a package of wooden spoons (3 for $.99) and paint them white, do a simple snowman face, use infant socks 0-3 months ($1.59 for 2 pairs, ie 4 socks), tie a string at the top, cut the toe off, hot glue on to the 'head', and then tie a scrap piece of fabric for the scarf.
