Eye pillow and Mother's Day "card"

I made my mom one of those eye pillows that you wear while you're sleeping. I used an old satin tank top for the fabric, rice for the inside, ribbons to tie the pillow/mask on and peppermint oil for fragrance. Not my ideal set of materials but I had to use stuff already lying around the house. I cut a square out of the tank top, sewed on the ribbons, folded it in half, sewed two of the sides together (leaving one side un-sewn so that I could add the rice), added oil to the rice, poured the rice inside the pillow and sewed closed the last side.




I didn't have any wrapping paper so I made this to hold the eye pillow:

It's just two pieces of stiff paper sewn together to create a little pouch. The butterfly is from a Jamba Juice gift card holder.
