May. 19th, 2005 12:18 pmI know that this isn't exactly the point of this community, but I don't think I've seen a community of nicer people. So, I could use a bit of help.
I am trying to get a job designing fabrics. Well, really, any entry level job in a place where they design them. I have a BFA in Graphic Design, and have no formal experience creating textiles, beyond my own experiements.
Anyway. I'd like to create hip, ironic, designs that would be appreciated by people 16-30. Not the 20-somethings that adore Paris Hilton, but more the vinyl buying, independant film watching, thrift store shopping crafty ladies and gentlemen out there. Can any of you think of any companies that I should look into? I haven't found a single fabric company that is activly seeking employees, as far as I can tell, but I'm willing to harass myself into an interview.
Thank you very much. Any advice that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
