Hi everyone! Sorry this is a text-only, but it *might* be interesting? Anyway..

Yesterday, I discovered "lotion candles" at the Rennaissance Festival. Yes! You burn the candle, then you blow out the flame, and just dip your fingers in the puddle of lotion-wax-stuff, and rub it on your hands! It doesn't burn you or anything, and my candle smells like gummy bears. Mmmmm, gummy bears...

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew how to make something like this? I've never made candles before, but I know if you touch the puddle of wax it burns like a mofo. But that's just it- the puddle of waxy-lotion-stuff is warm, but nowhere NEAR scalding! I know there are a lot of candle-makers on this community, so I was hoping they could offer up some suggestions. I am totally willing to go buy some stuff and play around with it, but I figured I should ask some more knowledgeable people before I mess up 10 gillion times and scald my hands off :(

The little tag that came with the candle said the ingredients are:
Hydrogenated soybean oil, fragrance, butyrospermun parkii (shea butter), persea gratissima (avocado) oil, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, beeswax, olea europaea (olive) oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, cananga odorata flower oil, benzotriazole
If that helps?

Has anyone made something like this before? I googled looking for a recipe, but I couldn't find anything relevant. How hard is it to work with these ingredients? Am I foolish to even try? What makes the puddles of wax nicely warm and NOT scalding? That's the biggest mystery (for me, anyway)..

Any help you all could give me would be much much appreciated!!
