I need some input...

I have this really nice sweater, but there's this tacky fur on the bottom that I really don't like. It's not removable either because it's not sewn on top of the other material.

I was thinking of making a shrug-type shirt out of it, but I have no idea where to start.

Do you guys have any ideas or suggestions? I really don't want to put this pretty sweater to waste.
