Bored and feeling blechy...  I am involved in this swap on www.crafster.org where you send three people stuff for their birthday.  If you are involved in that swap you probably shouldn't look here.  My first birthday to craft for is coming up so i thought I should get started.  I decided to make her a "Reading is Sexy" tote bag, inspired by this ... http://shallowlikeus.corknut.org/wp-content/rorytshirt.png , off an episode of gilmore girls, but I probably don't have to tell everyone that I'm not great at stencilling.  So I quit that endeavor... but made a reversible tote bag just to see if I could.

I love tote bags like whoa... and I'm not sure if I'm sending this one or keeping it, because of it's lack of pockets and stuff... but it DOES match the notebook I made for her.(which you can kinda see in the upper left corner)

The pictures are taken at an angle so they aren't really super correct, but I'm lazy and you get the point.  In actuality the handles match way better than they seem but I suppose that the light reflecting off the shiny part changed the color a bit with the flash.

Made from one thin black canvasy apron accidentally worn home from the diner and pretty red fabric that i bought for cents when joanns was going out of business.  I REALLY enjoy it and need to go steal more aprons because they are the perfect size and material.

Thinking about adding an applique.  It can be seen at http://www.buttonsplus.com/products/details4.html number 2843... the little teddy bear.  he's kinda fluffy and super cute (also scored when joanns was going out of business) and i think if I DO add him then I'll use velcro so he can go on both sides. :)

First tote bag, no pattern.  What do you think?
