craft mania
Jun. 9th, 2005 02:08 amSince I'm home from school now, I have a lot of time to be crafty when I'm not actively looking for jobs. Here are the results. Beware dialup users! I am on dialup and these took forever to upload.
This bag is from a free pattern found online by googling "kwik-sew 5001". Fabric from Gran's old shirt and canvas chairs or something. The lining was chosen for its stiffness since I was too impatient to wait to buy interfacing.

Melted crayons to make new gigantic multicolored ones. I kind of themed them cause I thought it was fun.
Dirt
Fire
Sunset (yellow bits are glow in the dark)
Metal (shorter than the others cause the metallic crayon bits had been well-used)
Grass
Water
A silly drawing I made to illustrate how nicely the crayons work.
Here are some cards I made for thank you notes or something. Whatever, really... there's no text inside.
Stencils
More stencils
Tissue paper
Scrap of sparkly sheer fabric (actually underwear...shh) behind cutout. I need to use a glue besides Elmer's.

inside of mouse card

Homemade paper. Pulp made from torn-up magazines and a blender. It didn't really work out too well cause I just glopped the pulp onto a screen, spread it out and flattened it a tiny bit, and then let it dry. Haha... it ended up a bit thick as you can imagine. I pressed it between newspaper with heavy books later, which helped a lot. Still wasn't drying, so I put it on the deck in the sun, and now it's warped again. Time to press it again! Oh, and the flowers are courtesy of my friend Amelia, who turned 5 this month.

Experimental molded paper pulp. I think I'll paint the ducky.

Coin purse from free (Smith & Noble?) fabric samples.

iPod cozy I made a long time ago, maybe December. The outside and lining are from a pair of undies that got too big, and the padding is from a bra that got too big. Can you tell I have a problem with throwing anything away?

Woops, forgot these the first time. Simple experiment in marble magnets.

This last thing is a book my sister made for art class/my birthday. I think it's very cool... now I just need to find something to do with it.
The strings wrap around the buttons to close.

That's it! Thanks for being patient. :)
