I'm making an awesome possum pattern from McCall's for a messenger bag and yesterday I started sewing the pieces together. I had a thin piece of interfacing, the fabric and a piece of velcro being sewn together. About a third of the way around the velcro piece, my needle breaks in two. Now, I've sewn velcro (a softer piece) before onto two thick pieces of felt and had no problems. Am I making it too thick? Should I just buy another needle and try again? Do they make a stronger needle? I really don't feel like going through 6 needles just for the velcro pieces. Help!
