Hi, craftgrrls, I'm completely new to sewing, and would like a little input from some of ya'll that have sewn ties before.
Did you have to use interfacing? What kind of fabric did you use that lay nicely when tied? I have a friend interested a skinny tie in pink or red satin. I think I'd have to use interfacing for this, right?
Also, did you use a pattern? Are most skinny ties in the same proportions as regular ties, or do they always widen at the bottom?


I like this guy's tie.


My friend isn't sure if he wants it pointed or flat on the bottom. Which do you think looks better? Should it widen on the bottom at all?

Thanks so much for any input. I haven't even completed a sewing project, so I'm a little worried about trying to make anything.
