Query about some finishing substances.
Jul. 8th, 2005 01:20 pmMy fiance and I bought these GORGEOUS bamboo plates at the local grocery store. We brought them home and realized that they're unfinished and disposable.
Considering the price of these plates, I was kind of disturbed. (Serves us right for not reading the package!) Does anyone know of some kind of lacquer or varnish or something that's good to make these plates something we can use and re-use? Obviously, it would have to be something non-toxic, or something where we couuld use several coats of something like shellac, then a finish coat of this stuff.
Ideas? Anyone? These are really pretty plates and I'd hate to use them once and toss them.
