Sewing question! Drawstring skirt!
Jul. 13th, 2005 09:51 amI'm making a skirt with a drawstring top.
I've just realized that the sewing machine I'm using (belongs to my roommate's mother) doesn't have a button-hole making setting OR a zigzag stitch. Those were the only two ways I could think of making the opening for the string to come out of on the front of the skirt!
Any other ideas on how I could reinforce the openings for the drawstring? I don't want to just cut slits in the fabric.
In progress:

It's an old pillowcase!
