Bleaching stretch jeans with lycra

I was reading the memories yesterday about how bleaching stretch jeans can destroy the spandex, causing them to get too big. I have a pair of stretch jeans that are 1% lycra -- will bleaching effect them?

I couldn't check the memories again, but I'm pretty sure this wasn't mentioned.
