Painting Bowling Pins

craftgrrlI have a vision.. However I have no idea how to go about it. For a local bars 1 year birthday, I thought I'd decoate a bowling pin.
I have two of them, incase I muck up the first one.
So its a normal bowling alley bowling pin. It appears to be covered in plastic?
I need to paint it a shiny black, any ideas? Also, does anyone know where to find flames stencils?
