I made stuff today!
Dec. 27th, 2002 10:53 pmI made armwarmers a while ago by taking a shirt I bought at Ragstock and cutting the sleeves off. Now I have a tank top and matching black armwarmers. I never sewed up the raw edges though, so I'll have to do that someday ::looks sheepish:: Haven't had any problems with fraying yet though.
Is that fusible web stuff strong enough to use on high-stress areas like the armholes of the tanktop? I've only heard of people using it on hems and stuff.
Anyway, today I put on the tank top and armwarmers and thought my outfit looked a little bland...I remembered that back when I posted the knitting nellie/spool knitting thread I looked at my knitting nellie that I had shoved in the back of my closet, and I remembered that there was quite a long finished cord attached to it. I found the nellie, finished up the cord and wrapped it around my waist. Presto, instant belt!
I really like the way this one turned out, and I'm going to make myself another belt like this except with different colored yarn.

I look really strange in this picture. And my room is a mess. And that little red circle in the back is pointing out my jar of modpodge. ;)
