I learned how to crochet!
Sep. 21st, 2005 11:52 amI took a free crochet class at my local library this summer and decided to put my new-found skill to use in a baby present. A friend I've had since the two of us were three years old together is about to have her first child (possibly tomorrow!)
My friend said the baby's room is yellow, so that was the inspiration...
The entire present:

It consists of:

a cross stitch piece, of a sleepy teddy bear!

a hand-sewn, baby-proofed teddy bear! (Teddy bears were the first thing I learned how to sew years ago, so this is no doubt the well-expected part of the present!)
AND...

my first crocheted afghan! It is 3 foot by 3 foot, made up of Granny Squares.
I'm pleased with how this all turned out, which is good, since I just found out that I need to start making another baby present! :)
