Sep. 24th, 2005 12:52 pmso my sister had a predicament ... everything in her apartment is either black or red, and she had these horrific lamps:

which didn't go with anything, and were severely unmatching.
so i told her to rummage through my fabrics and we would do a collage over the ugliness, and have beautifully crafted awesome lamps.

here's the fabric that she chose.
a girl i know gave me this fabric ... she did it in a textile studies course. she told me that she took regular white (i think) fabric, dyed it black, then dipped a stamp in bleach, and stamped it all over. looks pretty freakin' cool if you ask me.
then we cut up the fabric (not all of it) into little squares .. most were approximately 1"x1". and we got to crafting.

my roomie and my sister crafting away.
we used a glue and water mix and pasted all the squares on.

here it is drying in all its glory

completely dry, with its friend.
and voila, the coolest lamps i've ever seen:
